  4. Anatomy of Adwords Accounts - Gotta know the rules to play the game!
    1. One Account per Email Address
      1. Are all URL's equal in marketing?
      2. The difference between a "Display URL" & "Destination URL"
    2. 25 Campaigns per Account
      1. Campaign controls daily budget, ad schedule, language and location targeting and ad distribution.
      2. The Name Game - start off by naming campaigns (and ad groups) carefully for organization and efficiency.
    3. 100 Ad Groups per Campaign
      1. Ad group controls your ad variations.
      2. You can also set a maximum cost-per-click at the ad group level.
    4. "Unlimited" Key phrases per Ad Group
      1. You can set position preferences at this level
      2. Just because you can have practically infinite numbers of key phrases in an ad group, doesn't mean you should!
    5. By understanding this structure, you can strategize on the best way to organize your account to get maximal results.

  5. Where advertisers usually go wrong:
    1. They don't start and operate with a strategy (or read Dave's book!)
    2. They create a linear account: 1 campaign, 1 ad group, 1 ad, and a few key phrases.
    3. They overbid and/or blanket bid.
    4. They think their ad should be positioned higher than it really should.
    5. They use one version of an ad and don't change or test ads for effectiveness.
    6. They don't routinely check or maintain their account.
    7. They don't implement tracking or analytics to measure the success of their Adwords strategy.
